Found this rubber part down in my (shared) parking area, not far from where I do my work.
Might not even be off my bike, but it looks familiar.
I looked on the parts fiches covering all the areas I've worked on recently, but no dice.
FWIW, the I.D. is about 16 mm or 5/8 in., so it'd be rather loose on the front axle, too small for the back.
Still, it looks familiar... Anybody recognize it?

looks like a washer from my garden hose....

Well, I'll be dipped in dung! (http://i32.tinypic.com/1zx43es.gif)
Sometimes I'm just too old school - I'd thought of that, but then, "Nah, hose washers are bigger, and pink!"
But since you both thought of it, "Well, that
would fit both the parameters of familiarity to me and of not being on any FJ fiche, and I
did have the hose out when I was cleaning."
So I went down and checked, and sho' nuff! I have two identical hoses - one had a washer just like the one in my hand, and the other had none - mystery solved!
Steve,
Just to make you feel better, I have used a garden hose washer whenever I've lost one of the rubber spacers that are used on the lower fairings mounts. At least until I caould get a replacement spacer.

Thanks, David,
I'm just relieved that it wasn't a case of "extra parts"... ;)
What's wrong with extra parts?
I have crap left over every time I work on my bike! Someday I hope to build a second bike from the spares!
