Title: New UK Member
Post by: pete m on March 24, 2013, 06:51:44 PM
Hi All,

I've been meaning to join this forum for a while. I'm a member of the FJOC in the UK and organise rides on the FJ/FJR Rider forum. I'm based in the Northwest of England in the county of Lancashire.

I own a 1994 3XW which has been modded a little,
Blue spot calipers
Braided hoses
Genesis wheels
FJR Master Cyls
3CV swinging arm
Cast Iron discs
Outback saddle
Stainless chain guard
Scott Oiler

It's done 77.000miles and I still prefer riding it to my 09 FJR which is known as the hair drier.

I'm going to change a few more things, one of Randys' Oil coolers, perhaps a fork brace and that should be pretty much it then. I'll just get on with riding it and enjoying it. :good2: :good2:

Welcome Pete, you did good with your mods....fun eh?  I agree on your assessment, FJ vs FJR.
The FJR is a nice ride but my '84 is more fun...and lighter...and faster...and has more ground clearance.

Post some Picts when you get a chance.... Cheers lad!   Pat

A few photos of my FJ, I did forget to mention it has a one-off stainless exhaust system too, stainless heavy bar ends, Givi racks, Baglux Harness and a Genesis rear torque arm. I fitted some heated grips today they were cheapies off Flea-Bay I paid £20 for them. I went for a run to Lancaster this evening and it was bloody freezing, but my hands were toastie warm. These are better than the OEM items fitted to my 09FJR!

I am trying...believe me. :ireful:

I have several things on the cusp of completion, but it is the small details that seem to slow the process. :dash2:

The exhaust system is a one off made in stainless by a guy in East Lancashire, about seventy miles from where I live. He has done a great job, it did take some fiddling getting the jetting right. It isn't overly loud to be honest, It does however have a nice "thrum" to it. The only issue with it is the wife taking exception to spots of condensate all over the garden path. This is exiting from the drain holes in the collector box.

Yes Randy, what else have you got cooking? I'm taking the day off work the day my oil cooler and fork brace arrives so I can fit them.
