Title: 1989 FJ1200 that I couldn't resist
Post by: craigslist1340 on March 23, 2013, 06:19:44 PM
The Acura is gone, but here is the 1989 FJ1200 that came to me in an offer that I couldn't refuse.
It hasn't run in 6 years, and the owner tries to sell it before, but he said people were looking for a perfect bike.
The upper fairing has a small crack on the bottom edge. The lower is missing a section where it attaches to
the frame. It needs tires and the carbs gone through, missing the side protectors, but it is complete, with only 17,000 miles.
He was asking $1000 for it, and I told him that he needed to be closer to $500 for me to be interested, hoping
for $750. He took the $500. :yahoo: Now I need to get the 85 done.

Thanks for all the well wishes on the accident with the Acura.

Great buy for $500.00. Randy has new scoop sliders for around $41.00 each.

I have an 86, but I always liked that color scheme better. Good buy for 500 bucks.

For $500 its a great buy even if you spend a couple of bills its still a good buy  :good2:

I see potential in that bike. You got a good deal.

Personally, I have a soft spot for stray FJ's, MG's, VW Vans, Jeeps, and cats. In a perfect world, I'd have a "rescue facility" where broken examples would be accepted at one end, and nice, finished examples would roll out the other. The cats would just watch over the progress and keep the mouse population down.

Sadly, it's not a perfect world, and a fine line to being a hoarder!
