Not concerned about the wiring but has anyone fitted the original Tom Tom Rider satnav to one of those. If so what mounting system to where on the bike did you use?
i use a ram ball mount mounted to my clutch reservoir for my zumo.
Not sure how the TomTom works but here is where I put my Garmin Nuvi 755

Looks like ram makes a mount for the rider too. http://www.expressmounts.com/gps-mount/tomtom/rider (http://www.expressmounts.com/gps-mount/tomtom/rider)

Ram make mounts for everything. This would be way more effective than a loud horn in traffic. If this fails you can also get a rifle rack.
