Title: GPS Tracking
Post by: WhiteBeard on March 11, 2013, 08:16:38 AM
Anybody tried something like this?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorbike-Motorcycle-Quad-Mini-GPS-Tracker-GSM-Tracking-/230598195632 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorbike-Motorcycle-Quad-Mini-GPS-Tracker-GSM-Tracking-/230598195632)

Also looking at alarms with this function built in.

Looks interesting. I have given a little thought to putting some kind of alarm on mine also but just haven't got that far in the process. Any other idea's out there ?
I guess I could put an old smart phone in it and when it or me is lost I call ring it and ask it to please tell me where you are or come get me, I am sober now.....  :i_am_so_happy:

Here's another one with more features on it:

I like the fact that you buy your SIM card of choice and that you don't have to rely on any monthly subscription fees etc.
One bad thing is you need to charge the battery regularly, as it isn't connected to the bike battery. This dealer gives you one extra battery, which is a nice feature.

I might go for it and give you guys a review if it works out.

That can be solved. See the charging unit? Find out the secondary voltage on that transformer and get a transformer to match but with a 12 volt primary voltage....

Thanks Nat, this looks cool !  :good2:
