Then I had to paint the support. Then I had to powder coat the handlebars. Then the horn looked like it needed paint.

Sorry, I'll try to describe more in detail each photo as I go along.
Credit goes to Jon Cain in help picking out the parts. There are posts in the files section,
I think, on the items needed.
Fairing, scoops and fender painted today. SEM primer, Dupont Chromabase paint, Dupont clear.
The red I used was 2010 Volkswagen Vermelho Flash, code LG3E, color matched to the front fender
by my local paint store.

I fitted a yzf600 (thundercat) front end to my 3cv & didn't change the triple trees. The forks fit straight into the standard triple trees.
Hello, the forks with fit in the triples because they are both 41mm forks. The problem is a stock yzf600 (98-0 something) front wheel and spacers are too wide for the fj triples by about 20mm. An 87-88 FZR1000 triple fits perfectly and the YZF600 front wheel and spacer fits in with no manufacturing of spacers. The stock stuff bolts right up.

Sanded and buffed the front fender and put it on tonight.
YZF600 front wheel, brakes, and fender. Galfer braided lines.

That looks Sooooo Gooooood.....
You are going to like the way your FJ works with this mod! Are you going to up-grade the shock too? The YZF rear wheel will fit too!
I did the GSXR rear wheel swap with a Michelin 180 tire.It was nice and easy. I bought a Honda shock
thinking I might try it will waiting to see the RPM shock. Haven't decided.

Looking great.
What grit sandpaper did you use? Did you repaint the fender or simply sand and buff?
I painted it with Dupont chromabase and clear. Sanded with 1200, then 2000, followed by buffing with 3m Finesse.

Stupid question maybe but, by 98-0? yzf 600r you mean R6. Or are they two diff. bikes. At one time they made an R6 and a 600 sport touring thing no? I am looking into the same swap and wanna be sure before I pull zee trigger.

No, he meant YZF600r. The R6 is different... with shorter 43mm forks.
Thank you .
