Was playing around in photoshop with the hue, and got to wondering what my '86 would look like a different colour. Don't get me wrong, I love the red and white, but some of these schemes are hot.
Original factory red and white.

purple is good but i think the orange is the best, could be tempted myself!
Dogtired, do you not like me or do you not read your PM's.
I was here today. I came by for a coffee and a yarn and you were clearly friggin' around with photoshop on the computer. I drank alone at Deb's cafe in the main street.
I think you were a little kind in your description of the Mt Baw Baw / Willowgrove Rd's., forget about the bark and sticks, what about the car swallowing pot holes, missing chunks of road and sunken repairs.

I had one of those purple bikes. You may remember it was a Suzuki color in the 70's, T500's, 750 water bottles and maybe others.

If you like orange this will work for you. Are you still lurking Hein, the rally is looking like a big turnout this year, bring lots of cheese and wine. Incidentally Hein claims the wine is at fault for a full Orange FJ.

This is the first one that I have seen using Skittles as a color choice.

What a beautiful machine! Please post some more pics of you and your spectacular FJ! :bad: Pat should be adding this to his list of the best looking FJs in the world.
Looks like a licorice all sort, obviously has the belly pan off painting it to match the rest of the bike.

Bugga! Sorry I missed you ribbert.
Nope, I didn't read my PM's, it's not that I don't dislike you, it is just I haven't met you yet so I haven't had a chance to dislike you.
I was flitting round yesterday being a social butterfly catching up with people I haven't seen for a while.

yeah, there was a bit of that too, the surface has really gone downhill in the 18 months or so since I last rode it. There is really only 10 or 15kms out of the 120 odd I rode that was potholed, but there was that much tree debris about it didn't matter. Speed was well down. The rest of the ride made up for it though. :yahoo:
Where did you head after you hit Noojee ribbert?
Imo , the green looks like a gpz , purple a suzi water bottle , blue , well they came in blue :boredom:,, go for the Orange ,
Gotta love the 70's and their use of colour...
A '74 Triumph Bonneville.
Actually a bit rare that model, I think the factory was on strike for most of the production year.
And them bread box tanks on them were fugly, I am mad for Meriden Triumphs and even I don't like them.

I reckon the Vitamin C or the Kawa Green actually look hawt! Either would look great.

How do you make it to all of the Good-ol'-USofA without making it to North and South Dakota? Even Alaska is colored in. You need to experience the Black hills and Bad Lands. :i_am_so_happy:

Was playing around in photoshop...
While pondering different paint schemes, I did a similar thing with a photo of a favorite FJ from the web.
I "dissected" the FJ in Photoshop, creating a different layer mask for the various parts. That way, I could alter the color of, say, just the fork legs. Or the frame and wheels, or one of the stripes.
I would share the Photoshop .PSD file, but it's just under 16 MB in size.
If anyone else would like a copy of it, PM me, and I'll see about zipping it down or otherwise making it available to you.
Cheers!
Steve

Yeah I know, I missed "Joizy" too.
Got me beat how i never actually ended up in the Dakotas. But what a perfect excuse to go back.
I blame a navigation system I use called "zen navigation", which basically frees you from having to use maps. Loosely it means if you are lost or not quite exactly sure where you are, you find a vehicle, any vehicle that looks like it knows where it is going and follow it. You will not always end up where you were supposed to be, but you will quite often end up where you need to be.
