Can anyone tell me how the handlebar ends come off as I need to change the grips. If I'm not wrong the handlebar end has an Allen key end approx 10mm. I tried to undo but I didn't want to force it in case it busted. I'm heavy handed and things turn to shit pretty quick if I use a little effort / force so I thought I'd ask the question.
Ummmm, if the bar ends haven't been off since the bike was built, they can be "difficult" to undo.
Yes, you need a 10mm hex. If possible use a hex bit and try to shock it, with a hammer before putting a 1/2" breaker bar on and turning. FYI, it is normal right hand thread.
You've got a better chance of breaking the hex bit than the bar end, but its unlikely.

Get your self one of these: Impact Driver (http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-8-Drive-Hand-Impact-Screwdriver-Wrench-w-Bits-Case-Screw-Driver-Reversible-/290835350221?pt=Power_Tools&hash=item43b72342cd)
A must for any motorcycle owner, use a hammer to drive it. The impact causes it to rotate slightly and break the threads loose without needing a lot of torque that could damage the fastener or the bike. Specially useful on stubborn Phillips head screws. Not to expensive either.
10mm ---- I'll remember that because I'm in the same boat.
Those hand impact drivers are a must and will last for decades. I've got two that size and also found a slim unit that is the size of a fat magic marker and takes regular 1/4" hex bits. The bigguns take 3/8" I believe.
The smaller one gets way more use for loosening the screws around a carburetor or on switch housings, home electronics, etc. as it is easier to manipulate with some finesse and doesn't need as heavy a blow to operate. The bigguns I find clumsy unless we're talking about something big like a frame or suspension fastener.
and if you get really desperate, a pair of stiltsons will undo bar ends without drama, or too much damage, , also grips go on and off easily with the help of an air compressor and blow gun tucked just inside the grip
:gamer:  Thanks for the help everyone. Got the handlebar Ends off. took a bit of persuasion. Didnt think it was going to give. Dont think they've been off before. Best part.....No damage.... bonus.
