Does anyone know about FJ tachometers? Had an electrical surge, (regulator failed on supposed rebuilt alternator/generator, blew out all bulbs and turn signal flasher/relay and battery. Got it all back together Tach don't work, nothing in service manual. How do I check tach? Lot of work R&Ring. HELP!!!!.
I wish I would have known tach didn't work when I had the whole thing apart, maybe some kind of breaker/fuse in the wiring somewhere or do I have to take dt all apart again and replace the entire tach?
Thanks,
Karl

i wouldnt be surprised if it fried the tach.... i've had a bad ground before and it melted the battery posts clean off the battery.... i imagine a bad regulator could cause similar damage.

Ok thanks that is what I thought. I just hate to have take it all apart again, I wonder if anyone out there has a tach?
