Dave, at first I thought you were asking about the AD on your forks.... If so then yes, remove the useless things. if you mean YOU then no! Many of us here a quirky bunch and I like that. Hell, I got branded the Red Power Ranger (I kind of earned that) and roll with the punches. It is quite normal for us to dish out the shit with large shovels and then watch it hit the fan (http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/funny/1/shit-hits-the-fan.gif). You have fit in since day one for me. Flying shit is normal, more so as the weather reduces the days some of us cannot ride. Being in SoCal and riding year round I am a very mellow SOB... Remember, you don't have to reply to banter. I think the usual requirements for being a decent person on any forum apply to this one.

-Search before asking
-Listen to the advice, getting clarification if that's necessary
-Rephrasing the above, being willing and roughly able to learn
-Try to add useful content that's at least grossly related to what brings people to the forum

Having reviewed some of daves earlier threads and noticed mention of dark places and feeling low.  Well I wondered if this insecurity, if that's the right word is a manifestation of where your at in your head right now. And that's ok.  We all go through shit, I've been there a couple of times and occasionally you need reassurance, validation even, from those around you. 
Keep positive fella, don't worry if you think you may be getting on someone's nerves. The rest of us will show consideration and patience and if they don't then they were not worth the time of day in the first place.
You don't need to go anywhere.  Think positive
