Title: Not much going on to day, so...
Post by: 1tinindian on December 01, 2012, 03:01:40 PM
I thought I'd take a ride.
By all accounts there should be snow on the ground here in Iowa, but who am I to complain!
It's in the mid 40s,damp, misty, and foggy (sounds like Great Britain, maybe?)
Only rode a total of 16 miles, as my intent was to go visit my parents and I thought, why not take the bike!

This has only been the second time I have had a chance to ride the FJ since I switched over to Rotella T, and I swear the transmission is shifting smoother as a result.
Nice!

Anyways, here a picture from my gloomy ride today.

Take care,
Leon

Certainly not, Leon.

Pretty cold,though.

But, on a bike, the wind is blowing ALL the time!!??

83F today here in the Dallas area.  Felt kind of strange going to pick up my Gerbing heated liner that finally came in at the local dealer.  :-)

Still 72F at 11:00 pm.

Nice front yard Leon..........It's as flat as I had imagined........ :sarcastic:

I rode mine today too.........I took her to work for the first time in about 3 weeks, as the temps were in the mid 60's
On my lunch hour, I took a nice ride up through the hills outside of Parker, to Elizabeth and back..........Was a nice way to break up my work day......

What is that, the the ONE day per year it looks like that?

:)

British weather is notoriously, if not actually not all that stellar...

Well the fact I took the photo indicates that this is not normal December weather. On the other hand I'm still riding in a place that, if moved west, would be 500 miles into Canada!

Too true. One scenario is that Climate Change aka Global Warming will move the Gulf Stream and then we are completely screwed. We'd have the climate of Newfoundland, Southern Alaska, Vladivostok etc. Who cares? I'm thinking about retiring to Portugal.

Aw, I was just funning with you.  Truth be told, I have been to England/ Scotland maybe 10 times in the last couple of years and the weather has been decent more often than not.  There were even times where it looked like the picture you posted.  So the reputation is indeed worse than the reality.

I beg to differ on the British weather being thought anywhere near decent, having grown up in the mist. Mind you, since I live in California now I suppose my weather sense has been re-calibrated. We've just had 4 days of rain here in Napa and I'm suffering from S.A.D. or should that read pissedoffness?
Bahhh humbug.
