Thought I`d take my Sunday morn Mantherapy down south of my place about 80klms. The stock FJ ran oh so sweet as usual and managed to clear some spiderwebs before settling at a mates place for coffee on Bribie Island. Took a few picks in his Manshed, I thought I`d share with ya;-

Ahhhh Heaven. ...Now tell me if you can guess who invented this (The first I believe) cantilevered suspension? Hint: It`s the same bloke that invented a reversible rear wheel (As also seen here) for a quick change of ratio for the track. (Once ya rode tha bike there. The operation to reverse it involved only 2 spring clips and a T handle axle - wheel then came straight out-reversed then straight back in- 5 minute job. brilliant;-

Doug, what was in the coffee? It's Springtime down here and the second bike to identify seems to have a V12 in it.

Nahh.. just a spare V16 cadillac he had hanging around and in original condition. Early 1940`s if I remember.. but I`ll check tomorra.

The mighty Excelsior is a 1918 model "O" - the 1914 model first broke the 100mph barrier for the first time in history
on a production Bike. Bought out by hendersons (he had a couple of them in tha shed too! :-

Shit, (What was in that coffee!) forgot ta mention The indian was a 1918 Model "O" (Don`t know what model the Excelsior was but definateley 1918 also).

I have my Bonnie stored with a mate in Houston, he is going to teach SWMBO and his daughters to ride on it.
It currently has a Cozy sidehack on it, I put it on there when my girl came over for a month or so in November.
The trailer is no more, plus I had to pull the tow hitch off the bike when I fitted the sidehack to it.
Awesome... awesome fun to tour in, we did around 4,500 miles for the month she was in the States with me.

Ahhhh.. you speaka my language..From memory it was the newer model (1956) where they had overcome the overheating of the rear two cylinders on tha earlier models. When ya get up here (Next week +) I`ll take ya there. Really keen to see David`s (stokes) 1948 triumph for which he received an award from The Triumph factory fairly recently. :drinks:
