Title: Greets From Norfolk England
Post by: fj12_rider on November 18, 2012, 05:21:52 PM
Hey all
Just thought i`d introduce myself . I`m Dave 42 and live in Norwich Norfolk UK. I`ve just become the proud owner of one of the best bikes I`ve ever set eyes on ,I mean of course my 1990 3CV FJ1200 . It`s almost mint considering its 22 years old and I fell in love with her immediately and cant wait to begin touring on her . I paid a RIDICULOUS £750 for her and feel like I stole her from the previous owner . Its got a very admirable 41,000 miles which is nothing for an engine of this type and intend to keep her until I can no longer ride . She`ll be loved and cared for thats for sure. she has the inevitable couple of small issues , I.e. a small electrical fault being the main one and needs a seat cover. She came with a Givi mono rack and massive top box along with a Motad Neta exhaust system that sounds lovely . As you can probably tell i`m stoked with it .

Hope to become a regular member and hopefully can learn and help others along the way .

Cheers
Dave

HELLO!! About time a local showed up!  Welcome to the group!  You practically live three doors down from me metaphorically speaking!  im over near downham market!  i often have to go to norwich for work stuff and take the bike whenever possible.

i knew if i waited long enough a local would show up.  Now I reckon I can start our very own UK rally!

Hope you get on with bike!  Have to meet up at Wells Harbour for a tea some time!

Don't spend too long on this forum you will quickly start to get this irritating urge to tinker, change and prove things.....moditis, it nasty.  Only cure is more modding!

I spotted that bike on eBay when I was rummaging around!

Welcome, I do more reading than writing in here, but it's a pretty sound place full of great info.

Nice to meet you and welcome. I'm from Leicester just up the '47 aways and have also recently acquired a 1990 FJ1200 mines black (but does appear to be blue in certain light conditions??) What's you're electrical gremlin? Maybe we can help, I also started out with electrical gremlins and mine turned out to be a defective timing pick-up. Next job for me unfortunately is fork seals (comes from owning a beautiful piece of machinery that was hardly used).

Hey Wesley .
Yeah mine is black at the top and looks blue in a nice light . If you look in the maintenance section i posted in there about my probs . I`ve worked around it now . Fork seals aren`t too bad of a job to be fair  , next job for me is checking the valve clearances . I doubt they have been checked in a while not over joyed at the prospect but better to be safe than sorry .
