Title: Can anyone recommend a good street cam
Post by: Bozo on November 08, 2012, 07:57:08 PM
Hi,
This question must've been asked before but I'd like new feedback please.
Can anyone recommend a good street cam to replace my pitted Mega cycle cams, the 28-600 megacycle cams were great but I would like to replace them with an equivalent cam from another make (eg webcam).
The 28-600 was a mild street, with no engine mods required (i.e valve springs, shims under buckets etc), they were good on mid range and fantastic on the top end.  (popcorn)

Web camshafts lists grind #225 as a "drop in" cam -- but be sure to put some GOOD valve springs in it at the same time!

Another option is Kent Cams in the UK- grind # YAM7. A little milder than the Megacycle or Web Cam. Good luck!

Haven't heard of Kent (I'll look them up tonight), what are they like in quality and price?, thankyou for your input.

Kent cams are the best of the best!   :good2: They have an unsurpassed reputation over here.  I had a high lift version in my caterham Super seven (1800 superlight).  Excellent mid range and the top end was such that given the car only weighed about 450kg meant that you would eat a set of tyres just going to the shop for milk and bread!!  That was the closet you will ever come to a motorbike on 4 wheels.

Didnt realise they did them for bikes, then again never really looked for one for a bike!
