Just checking in to say hi. Just picked up an 89 fixer upper for $450. Runs bad right now, but I love tinkering and getting things running good. She's no show bike but its all stock and will clean up nice. I should be working on the sleds right now getting ready for the winter up here, but I've always wanted a FJ since they came out when I was in high school. Well I'm sure I'll be chatting with some of you about this bike soon as I haven't owned a bike in 15 yrs. I'll be hitting the search option hard at first. Whats up with the kookaloo thing?
Welcome 88 orangepeel notch, I will call you 88 for short. Try Googling the "Kookaloo". Looks like you will have some time to fix her up during the winter months and have the FJ you always wanted ready for spring.
Welcome, 88!
I've been known to ride into Wisconsin from time to time.
Where in the state do you live?
Leon
I live about 45 min. north of Milwaukee. Can't wait to get this on the road. Only got to ride this bike for a short jaunt to check 2nd gear. Rear tire is showing cords and after pulling plugs I have to clean carbs , #1 and #4 were white and #2 had a gap of maybe .005 and all carboned up. PO said he just had them cleaned at dealer. We'll see. Also gas looked like orange soda. I love it when its the simple stuff to fix.
Welcome,I am not up millwauke way to much but who knows we might run into each other sometime anyway.
Keep the rubber side down.
scott........
Welcome to the group!
I love having a winter project....always seems to make springtime arrive faster!
KOokaloo!

Thanks for the replies, and I just googled "kookaloo" and my test drive was definitely not that. Give me 2 days and I bet I'll tell a different story.

Gotta be real close to me. I'm in Fond du Lac. Just resurrected an 86 this summer. This is the place to find the answers. Everybody is great.
Yeah, I live in Lomira. Hope to meet up some day.
Well carbs were not just cleaned, all gummed up. Now they look good, fresh gas and 4 new plugs and what a difference. Nice idle, good throttle response and quick revs. Can't wait, new tires will be here Fri. so may have to bundle up for the maiden voyage.
