Gentlemen,

Here are miscellaneous videos of the ECFR. There is footage of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway & other miscellaneous roads.

A few notes: the rider with the coverall looking leathers is on a v-twin of some sort. It was exceptionally loud and at times it seemed as if I could feel the percussion off of the exhaust. An unusual sensation.

The group of four bikes was also very, very loud; however the camera's microphone did not pick up their sound. Their sound was almost deafening, even with ear plugs.

As we came into a town the fellow who was on the Honda (who earlier passes me) almost had a head on with an oncoming car as he (the motorcyclist) made a left hand turn in front of a vehicle. The camera does not show how close he actually was, but you can see the rider distracted in an unguarded moment just before he turns. He puts his foot down but then wisely completes the turn.

I would like to take a minute to thank the gentlemen from R.P.M. and his efforts and time on behalf of all FJ owners. As you can see, the Fork Valves and Brace enable the front end to perform far above the oem requirements (skinny front axle or not!); seemingly on par with the modern bikes that were encountered. Although I have a much improved (over stock) modified rear shock it does not keep up with the Fork Valves. Thus I eagerly await the new rear shock from RPM; it will match the performance of the Fork Valves taking the handling of the FJ to a much improved level.

Mr. Rockoffs son, who has the red Aerostitch riding suit, rides a 500 and attains speeds approaching 80 mph! He is a very good rider, exceptionally smooth and makes excellent choices choosing lane position.  Bill himself is quite an accomplished rider so "like father like son" certainly applies in this instance.

The couple (seen in front of me at the gas station) is shown wheeling down the highway at speed – quite a display – the gentleman also is an accomplished dual sport rider as well.

If you look closely, on the Cherohala you can see strange looking birds flying several times – once I saw four all at the same moment!  And really close too – rather confusing...

Until next year,
Mike Ramos.

Apparently a problem with the song's copyright (either Strangers On The Shore or Heart Breaker).

The editor is looking for a replacement song. It may take awhile.

Very nice Mike.
I always enjoy your videos.
I even recognized some of the roads.
I can't wait to return there myself!

Mike,

Thanks for posting those.  (Wow, does my bike smoke a lot.). It was a pleasure riding with you again, although I apologize that I don't express my appreciation as eloquently as Jeff Hoffman.  I definitely believe that the world is a better place because you ride cross country in one sitting to join us for these things. I'm starting to build up the right kind of callouses to ride out that way at some point (not in one sitting, maybe) and might get to come out your way for a ride eventually.

:hi: As the season winds down here in Southern Ontario, (with a wee push from Sandy!!), the vids bring back great memories of those roads back in May this year, ridden with my brother and three friends...Thank you :good2:

Good afternoon Bill,

I followed you quite a lot and that scene was about the only place where your bike was smoking to such an extent. What was astonishing is that Andrew went right along with you at such a fast pace and remained undaunted by any type of turns. The young gentleman has really IMPROVED his riding and seems to be fearless as well, and his judgement remains very much intact at speed.

And no need to apologize, Jeff's sign(s) of appreciation were truly unique; cannot say I have ever seen such appreciation before (well not so much all at once!), however riding with Mr. Hoffman was really in itself a unique experience. Quite an accomplished rider, even when two up. Dual sport bikes as well. And a good sport too.

Ride safe everyone,

Mike Ramos.
