Hi everyone. I saw an FJ with a full fairing. Where can I find these? How much are they? It looked super cool.

mmmm Fj porn
I wonder why very few of these have full fairings, bearing in mind they are considered a sports/ tourer. The 87 i bought recently came with a full fairing on it. Bike was originally a Californian model.
Will have to stick up a pic of it sometime when i put it back together.

No wonder about it, the reason you don't see many with the full fairing is because Yamaha never produced them that way.
What you are seeing are aftermarket add-ons.
I do agree, they look good!

And the reason you don't see many after market ones is because the bikes over heat very quickly even with the motor exposed. I actually ruined the original low mileage motor in mine by getting it too hot.
I also agree, they do look good.

Ah yes, the old heat issue. Not a problem in Ireland really.
TASMANIA is a little like Ireland, could use a full fairing most of the year ,
This is a lower fairing that leaves the head exposed. Made by Lockhart Phillips. I would love to find of these sitting in someones garage.

That's the type i have on mine except it comes all the way up the side to meet the top part. Has the Lockhart sticker on the side of it . It needs to be repainted and has a small repair done but it's all good. Prob get more for it than i paid for the whole bike.
There is an outfit in G.B. called Skidmarx that has a full lower for about $160 CAD. Haven't found out about shipping yet
I disagree. I've never liked the look of any of those aftermarket fairings.
I think one of the attractions of the FJ is seeing the motor. The side fairing just makes it look like any other slab-sided, plastic-wrapped generic sportbike.
That engine deserves to be seen, it's the primary character of the bike. Why would you want to hide it?
One of the reasons I like the FZ1 is the view of the motor, like the FJ.

Spot on! :good2:
Agreed David! But then I'm in the extreme - I prefer how they look without the stock belly fairing...
