I'm wondering the same thing.... No support from the fork tube, may be able to torque them enough to break, or at least, twist under enough steering input.

obviously safety was my first concern,they feel very solid due to the inserts providing rigidity but i well be checking them also.Im not a hard rider and wanted a more upright feel. I also filled the center holes with lead shot to dampen vibration.
