I'm looking for SS brake lines for my "new" 85 FJ 1100. The HEL USA online shop seems to be broken. Can anyone recommend a brand of high quality SS brake lines and a website to order. Thanks.
Might as well start with the best (and most expensive) www.spieglerusa.com (http://www.spieglerusa.com)

+1 I have these on front and just yesterday rear showed up.

I bought mine from a company called Wezmoto on ebay. Great product and prices and great to deal with. He will make any size you want with lots of colours. He has specific FJ model lines and the banjos are directionally adjustable. The line from the master to the splitter is a tad short so if you go with him ask for an inch longer(FJMonkey insert joke here).
Peace
Andrew
oh forgot to mention my bike has the fjr front brake master cylinder so I needed extra line to make that nice curve at the top. Measure your old ones he'll make em up right.
I think most of us run the two line kit for the front lines. One line from M/C to each brake caliper. Hope this helps?

I built my own, ran a single to the right caliper, then a line over the fender to the left caliper. Works GREAT, easy to bleed.... Triumph does it this way with their sport bikes.
Makes sense to me, less line = less swellage. Also, the splitter seems to be where the air likes to hide on these...
Venhill engineering is a great place to buy braided hoses and fittings I have used them for several bikes and never had any complaints, they are cheap and good quality..Google them ...

Hi rich
Could you post a picture of this?
Thx
Jeff
If I remember to take one..... My cam is broken, it'll have to be with my phone. I noticed the new Duc Panigale is using the same method on the front. If you can find a good close-up of the left side of the front wheel, you'll notice 2 banjos stacked on the caliper, same as my FJ. If they were using 2 lines from the master, there's no reason to stack banjos at the caliper...

Thanks rick
I think I get. Now I am going for a cold shower.

bharvey60, are you in a rush to get the SS lines?
I will be putting up my set of SS brake and clutch lines for a 85 FJ for sale in about 2 weeks.
This is the full set of brake lines (short ones also for anti dive system) and clutch line included.
This set eliminates the splitter, 2 lines are run right up to the clutch master.
Tony
:hi: I used these guys for the brake and clutch lines on my '85...and I'm very happy with the quality and pricing... :good2:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/YAMAHA-FJ1200-CUSTOM-STAINLESS-STEEL-BRAKE-LINE-HOSE-/190747704709?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c6972fd85 (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/YAMAHA-FJ1200-CUSTOM-STAINLESS-STEEL-BRAKE-LINE-HOSE-/190747704709?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c6972fd85)
Please Note: I went direct and not through eBay... :good:
Use a length of string to measure off (end of banjo to end of banjo) your line requirements, check the banjo angles, order up (don't forget colour required), await delivery, fit, bleed...VOILA!!!
I used two separate lines from the brake master cylinder to the two calipers, (part #35/3/3/A/RED/1.25 and 34/3/3/A/RED/1.25 = $25.00 each line and two for the anti-dive at $15.00 each (12/1/4/A/RED/1.25 ) and 3 x double banjo bolts at $6.95 each...$100.85
One for the rear brake (part #16/1/3/A/RED/1 .25)...$15.00 and a single line for the clutch, (part #44/1/3/A/RED/1 .25)...$30.00.
* Please check the chart to enable you to order the correct type of line(s) that YOU require...as I may have got a part number wrong!!!
Please note: The first two numbers on the part numbers are the length in inches!! e.g part # 35/ is a 35" line :empathy2:
You also get more than you need single banjo bolts and crush washers... :good2:
ALL costings are in Canadian $$ and do not include, for Ontario residents, 13% HST (tax!!!). I also picked mine up and therefore no shipping charge. I ordered one day and they were ready for pick up the next day!!!
John.
I ordered my lines from the same outfit and he was great to deal with. It only cost me 25 dollars plus shipping for all my lines clutch and front and rear lines with adj. banjo on one end. They fit great. Big R :yahoo:

The 2008 GSXR 1000 inverted front end I put on my 86 fj uses the same single line to one caliper. And a line over the fender to the other caliper
