Well, I have a HUGE project I'm working on here and have it something of a roadblock.
I have the engine completely torn down, right down to two case halves. I have been systematically cleaning, sandblasting, and coating all of the sliding/wearing parts with ceramic lubricants.
Right now I am trying to get the transmission gears off of the main shaft and don't see how they are held on. Do I have to push out the roll pins? Does anyone have a exploded diagram of the transmission shafts? Thanks in advance.
if randy from rpm shows up, he should be able to help you out ,
All of the transmission gears are press on and snap ring. You normally are not able to use the 1st gear over again after it has been pressed off of the input shaft.
The output shaft gears are held on by the bearing followed by the snap rings, which are not re-usable either.
Randy - RPM
Well, thanks for the info.
I guess I'm left with cleaning the gears really well and not moving them as I blast them.
