I have ordered Royal Purple, Max Cycle oil and a Royal purple, spin on filter. I am wondering if anyone here has used this brand on their bikes?

Warning to all! Use the search function for oil questions. Asking oil questions may lead to heated discussions lasting hundreds of posts filled with inflated opinions, copious amounts of fact looking like documents and general chaos.
Although, it has been kind of quiet... Are bias ply oils better for my FJ or radial?

I ran the Royal Purple 20W50 in my bike as a first try for synthetic.. It wasn't anything overly impressive and I'm not going to stick with it. I hated that it was dark to start with and impossible to tell if there was a color change until I drained it. Since it was my first switch to synthetic and I couldn't see the color, I drained it at 2000 miles and it was still not very worn. It was still somewhat purple! Where do you get and how do you find a spin on filter for our bikes?

You need one of these first, one of the best upgrades for me.

I have used Royal purple in my FJ for several years now. It works great, engine runs cooler and quieter. The purple color is a dye, but burns off within a few thousand miles. I run 10w40 and have used just regular 10w40.
You know, I ran into some interesting oil resources recently, and one of them did not go so far as to endorse Royal Purple, but did mention that what made it (and a few other comparable brands) interesting was that the EPA mandated in recommended oil that the levels of ZDDP (Zinc+other good things for engine valvetrains) be dropped from 1200ppm, to 800ppm, to the current 400ppm. Apparently oils like Royal Purple get around that requirement by not getting official endorsements from certain bodies or something to that effect.
But I've never used it, and I've never put oil in an FJ, so YMMV. I never would have considered it before, expensive oil just sounded like snake-skin oil.
