Title: Extenders...not just for your pecker anymore!
Post by: 1tinindian on August 24, 2012, 11:30:42 AM
After putting considerable time, money and effort into making the lower cowling look as good as I could, I thought it was time to add on to the length of the rear section of my front fender,,,that, and the fact that I recently moved to a new house that is located roughly 4/10 of a mile down a gravel road play heavily into as well.

The Extenda Fenda by Pyramid!

It comes supplied with double faced tape along the inside, bottom edge and 4 screws to mount, but I didn't like the idea of exposed srew heads showing on the back on the fender, so I used a 2-part epoxy for ABS plastic and glued it on. I have been happy with the install, function, and looks of it, up to this point.

Hi Leon.

Looks great mate! :good:
I bought one a while back but have yet to mount it (the one I bought has "yamaha" lettering across the bottom) .I too was not liking the idea of exposed screw heads and was considering epoxy. Thanks for posting.

Cheers :drinks:

Looks great........Seems like it would keep a bunch of dirt and road grime from hitting the front of the engine area........

I know you did this a while back Leon, but did you remove the double sided tape, or keep it on and use with the epoxy glue? Going to do mine this week,  :good2:

Just finished putting my Extenda on. Worked out well, used Araldite epoxy, nice and strong. Didn't need to use screws at all. Hopefully this will keep the stones and mess away from the pipes/engine,  :good:  Also had to glue one of the mounting tabs for the guard back on, was snapped and hanging by a thread somehow.
