Can someone point me to the fuel cap venting fix been looking and cant seem to find it ? The problem is when it sits all day at work ( in the sun) and i go to lunch its wants to bog out like running out of fuel and when i stop it starts right back up after a min and is fine . And when heading home its been in the shade for about 2 hours and runs fine . Only seems to happen when sitting in the sun for a while . So today about lunch time i walk out and want to see if tank is venting and slowly opened the fuel cap and heard air suck in so thinking the vent is bad . Thanks for any help
Does it whistle?
You know that you say that i have heard something odd and have looked over the whole bike and cant find anything so that very well can be it !
If it's sitting in the sun and you hear something when you open the cap, that SHOULD be pressure escaping. If not, then I want in on the patent.
Next time it's sitting in the sun, open the cap to stabilize the pressure first then go for a ride and see if it still bogs.

I did just that befor i headed home and didnt have a problem ! would this be a vent problem then ? :unknown:
Sounds like it, a member said he stuffeda rag it the tank opening and used compressed air to blow the crap out of the vent, , its the tube at the bottom of the tank at thefront of your seat
Ill give a look and try this weekend :good2: and give a update if thats the problem ! Thanks for the help
So sat i set the bike out in the drive for a few to let the sun warm it up as if i would at work . Then started it up and let the motor warm up then shut it off and opened the fuel cap and sure enough pressure escaped . Then took it out for about a hour or so and no problem . So would this be a venting problem and if so how do i go about fixxing it ?
Hola
Take a look to my web, Carb tuning section. At the bottom you have the HRC fuel cap mod explained. No more venting problems and the bike runs smoother and with more OOOOOOOOMPHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!. And the petrol don“t go out of the deposit too

Great site very helpfull thank you very much !
Cheers! :good:
Well went out to the shop and was going to do the fix on the cap and mine is lil diff then the one you so . Is there a diff in the 1100s then the ones on the 1200s ?
Then you own a FJ1100, I suppose
So the HRC cap mod is not needed because the 1100 cap is not completely sealed and get air
If you have any starvation problem is due the vacuum pet-cock: the diaphragm has hardened and you have to refurbish the pet-cock
I see will be looking into that asap ! im heading to PA this coming weekend and hope its not a problem ! Think if i run it on reserve i should be ok ! Just need to remeber its on when i stop ! Thanks for the help !!! :drinks:

Sorry, there are no rebuild kits for the FJ, that I have found. The are many posts here about replacing the orings, but if the diaphragm is bad, a new one is the only option.
