This site has frame paint for a Yamaha previous to 1989 as "silver/gray"

Can anyone confirm if the bike frame for an 86 FJ1200 is considered "silver/gray"? My frame looks black (although black touch-up paints look too black on it & don't match).

Does anyone know of a common touch-up paint that matches the frame closely? The blacks I have tried from AutoZone are too black & don't match...

The 84>90 and maybe 91 and up were silver frames with black tubng for the subframe. If it is black it has been repainted or powder coated.

Where are you and the FJ located?

Yes, my '91 has a silver frame and black subframe and, to the best of my knowledge, '92 and '93 were the same as well.

I'm located in northern Indiana.

& so the silver/gray is OBVIOUSLY silver/gray & not an off black, right?
