When I use my Mity Vac to pull a vacuum at the caliper, some Teflon tape on the brake bleeder nipples helps keep the air from drawing in around the loose threads.
Double check your crush washers. Use new washers or apply some heat to soften your old washers before re-use.

Did you get the seals in correctly on your rebuild?  Hope this helps.

Another little trick is to attach a length of vacum hose to the bleeder, take the cap off the resavoir and open the bleeder until fluid runs out. It will speed up the process.

+1 if you put a open half hitch in the line and put the other end into a small can, gravity will beed the line in very little time. I was able to rebuild Dave's clutch slave cylinder and bleed in less than 45 minutes.

in the  plunger end where the lever pushes , should be a circlip  under the rubber cover bugger to get to , but circlip pliers help
