Title: Introductons
Post by: WRW9751 on July 20, 2012, 10:21:46 AM
Howdy from Iowa. I've owned two FJ's one 85/1100 and currently own a 86/1200 both of which I purchased new. I also have several other Yamaha's. I'm currently ridding a S/10 Tenere. I'm a retired (recently) railroad conductor off the UP.

I live in Ankeny. Thanks, I hope to pick you guys brains. I've had a lot of motorcycles over the years but seem to keep a FJ around for security. Mine have been rock solid. After owning one for this long, I know it will start and run anytime I ask.

Welcome fellow Red and White owner, if you like making improvements then you are in the right place. My 86' stayed stock till 2 years ago, this is what I have done since then.

The rear shock is way over due now that the front no longer requires my attention. Hurry up Randy!!! Uni's, ignition, 4 brush starter, Supertrap slip-ons as soon I get them polished up. Carb hardware kit with a good cleaning and jetting for the Uni's and pipes.

There are even more upgrades but I think you get the point, some of us get Moditus and love the results.

Use the search function before you ask, your question has most likely already been answered. If you can't find the answer, then ask. Enjoy the Kookaloo.

Wow FJmonkey that is quite a list in just two years. One thing you did not list is when did you buy the suit or is there more than one? Maybe He is more than one power ranger.

Strangely enough the suit started when I found a close out deal on the track pants for less than $100 a few years ago. Then a year later I went for the matching Textile jacket with much better venting than my old jacket. So really anyone can become a Red Power Ranger, but at this point you would only be imitating the original..... I accept flattery in all forms.... :blum1:

FJmonkey you will always be the original POWER RANGER anyone who comes after you will be a copy cat. Lots of money going out last week on the bikes. New tyers for the FJ avons front and rear, kept the 16" rear a little longer giving me time to work out the wheel swaps. Purchased my friends Suzuki DRZ400S also last week so need to recharge the funds before I can do any more mods or buy some new gear later in the year.  :good2:
