Title: San Diego Ride with member FJmonkey - Mike R- Moparman70
Post by: moparman70 on July 15, 2012, 10:02:43 AM
Just some pics of our ride with Mike R - Mark M - Steve C---- It was a great ride in the mountains of San Diego covering Palomar - Julian and Sunrise Hwy.  Thanks to Mike for coming all the way from Redding for it --- that is testimony to how great the roads are here.

Also thanks to Mark who just came from LA but still ....he tries.

Roads covered - 76 -- S6 -- S7 -- Mesa Grande - 78 - 79 -- S1 ( Sunrise Hwy) - Old Hwy 80 - Japatul Valley Rd - Dehesa - and end at Flinn Springs   With the addition of Mike's machine with one type of every vintage --- we need you  Fr. Pat to complete the set.

If you have ever been to a rally then you should know by now....There are no winners, only losers...

But that is related to group rides only right?

Ok did not get it. I was trying to say you are a funny guy (good sense of humor). I think you would just be a hoot to have around. Also you can take a joke. Rides and rally's maybe late Aug or early Sept. How far to Vegas from S Cal/Glendale so we can buy each other that beer. Since I have never ridden in CA. I should also explain I don't look at things as winners and losers I see winners and quitters if you don't quit you can still win.  :good2:  (popcorn)

Kurt, it was all taken in good humor, expressions can be difficult when put into text. Lost Wages is about a 4 hour drive/ride from me. Not a good ride for bikes, just long, hot and straight as piss. However, I will keep you posted the next time I will be in LV area.  If you get to SoCal then we have some really good roads for you. Some of the best, I would be happy to play guide and get some twisty rides in with you.

FYI, the "No winners only Losers" is to keep all rally riders focused on enjoying the ride, not racing to get in front and or stay in the lead.  Going down sucks and makes for less than enjoyable rally time.  :drinks:

Ok now I understand. I have ridden with some top world class riders way out of my league. Better to be the last one there than the one everybody is looking for. I have some friends in Vegas. If I stayed there over night then drove (FJ on trailer) next morning. We could ride for a day or two. Then back home.  :drinks:  :good2:
