Title: hello
Post by: grimpixie on July 11, 2012, 03:49:46 PM
hi all Grim here,
thought i would join the forum as i have just acquired a 1992 FJ1200  :good2:

not what i'm really into but the missus got pissed at my having chops that she could not go on.

I've also got a 1983 honda XL600r just as a toy.

I have had a FJ1100 before but in a hardtail frame.

I'm based in the south of england.

cheers all, harvey, i just been looking through all the receipts and they date back to when the bike was first purchased, and it has had a respray and new decals. :scratch_one-s_head:

this is a ABS model but the previous owner removed the pump but has supplied it with the bike, not having had ABS before can anyone tell me if worth refitting. i ride the bike all the time as i don't drive cars.

Grim, it was probably removed because it was cactus..... seems its quite expensive to replace and is not really required anyway (my opinion).
I see you have blue spot calipers on the front. Looks like OEM wheel on the back, can't really see the front wheel, is it 3" or 3.5" in width........OEM wheel was 3" - maybe its been upgraded to a wider wheel when the ABS was removed and the blue spots installed?

Seeing as my bike does not and never did have ABS, I don't really miss it........ That said, its your call.
My only thoughts are:
1. are the OEM ABS fluid lines still on the bike?
2. is the ABS hardware (sensors etc) still fitted to the wheels?
3. can you be bothered bleeding it?
