Title: loose l/h switch 84 fj1100
Post by: desyboy on July 11, 2012, 04:16:29 AM
G'Day Fellers, as the subject matter says, I have a loose l/h switch, when I use the choke, the whole lot turns. Have taken the sw off to have a gander and can't see as to stopping the sw turning, such as a lil nub on the bar to restrict the turning of the switch???,there's no indentation on the bar to suggest something missing.
I was thinking of drilling a small hole and inserting a small screw to lock the switch, any help appreciated, Des  :dash2: :empathy3:

G'day.
I had the same problem, came up with a nifty solution that fixed the prob for good.  Just use a small bit of metal shaped to accept the "nub" on the clutch fluid resevoir handlebar mount.

Once you screw it into the switch block, measure and saw off the ends of the screws so they do not earth anything, and bob's your uncle.

good luck,

Gareth

nice tidy fix mate, i ended up swapping to later model switches, and the choke in the fairing,, , but now using xjr switches both sides,  no more dodgy indicators  :wacko3:

Fellers,
Thanks for the replies, gave me food for thought and came up with a mixture of all, a stainless machine screw through the top of the sw and tapped into the bar, sealastic will seal :diablo:
Thanks for the help Fella's.
