Anyone on here from the uk got any experience of ordering any bits from RPM? I'm looking at ordering fork valves and springs but wondered how you got on with issues like delivery, import duty and after sales? I understand that Randy is very highly spoken/thought of and the feedback on the parts are good, I just wondered about anyone's thoughts on the other 'bits' were?
I have ordered bits a couple of times, most recently an oil cooler kit, arrived in about a week missed out on any import duty, which was nice, bits have always been very good so have never had any after sales queries!, any questions or info i have needed has always responded to quickly and except for any small bits from yamaha (i live near padgetts in yorkshire and they have a suprising amount of fj stuff on the shelf!) and bits like chains, brake pads etc, which are easily got in uk i would always use rpm as my first choice.

Thanks for the info, thats good to know, bonus on the import duty! :dance2:
the last few times i have been caught for the import duty is its worth remembering it could cost that little extra
you guys are being ripped off, no import duty for anything in aus, pretty sure the uk is closer to america than australia is, i bought parts from rpm but pay only for parts and fairly cheap postage :scratch_one-s_head: , why do you blokes get stuck paying the extra , dousnt the queen have enough cash allready  (popcorn)
You would have thought so wouldn't you! I wouldn't mind she is your queen too given u are also part of the commonwealth, how about you start pulling your weight!!
she dousnt do anything for us mate, not paying her a cent, only get waisted on corgi food  ,, think weve drifted far enough away the ties should be cut :good2:

Not quite. There is no GST (vat) or duty on items imported for personal use with a value of less than A$1000. The reason for this is that it costs more to collect than what is collected, not that the govt thinks we deserve any goodies.
Randy RPM is very good at finding (relatively) cheap postage to Aus, but really those costs are not up to him. If you want to see high postage costs look at sending stuff from Aus to US, or UK, or anywhere really. It seems AusPost is trying to recoup all the $ they don't make because of the internet on anyone sending parcels out of the country.
Arnie
ahhh there was a catch , thanks arnie, your right about sending items out, if it dousnt fit in a standard small envelope they charge a fortune , sent a fuel cap to the states a few weeks ago $16.55 , air mail was a cheap option, sea is cheaper but takes weeks, price just gets higher depending on options (popcorn)
