Title: idling at four grand when warm not cold

I recently bought a 89fj1200 with 60,000 i was riding it one day and it started idling at 4 grand when i either put it in nuetral or pulled in the clutch does any one know what i could do to fix it? thanx,ryan

check the throttle cables to make sure you dont have one frayed and binding.

if that doesnt cure it then start looking for air leaks around the carb joints (the rubber boots that go between the carbs and the engine cylinder head)

idle screw in too far, choke still on ??  (popcorn)
