Randy's a badass. I needed a clutch basket and he had it to me in ONE day clean and damn near ready to install. He even thought of a few extra parts I WOULD need for a good install.
His prices are more than fair and he KNOWS FJ's. 8)

Yeah, Randy Rocks!!!

He made me a killer deal on an oil pan when I broke mine the last second before the West Coast Rally!  It was here in a few days...clean as hell...AND he included the new gaskets I would need to install!

He is an asset to the FJ community: great parts, great prices and fast service!

What would you think would be best stick orginal colour black or run with nice polished risers thanks  :good:

I don't know, which is why I put it out there.

The riser goes between the factory black top of the tree and the handlebar. The top of the cap will be exposed.

I still haven't received enough feedback to justify spending the funds on these risers.

Again, if you are interested email me directly; rpm@rpmracingca.com.com

Yes, you can find them here; RPM Handle Bar Riser (http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=M%2FC%3AHandleBarRiser)

Another enthusiastic thumbs up for Randy.

I sent him a few sets of carbs in hopes that he could clean them and repair the damage done by another shop who pretty much ruined the carbs beyond my ability to fix. Adding to this the carbs were damaged in transit from me to randy.

Randy contacted me immediately when he found the damages, did a great job cleaning the carbs, and repaired the damaged carb body which required welding all in a very timely manner.

Great work as far as I am concerned.

I was looking around eBay and noticed a ton of "NOS" or "new" Yamaha FJ parts.

I noted that many of these parts listed as NOS are still available new and are cheaper than they are being offered. If there is engine or carb parts you are in need of, please let me know before buying the NOS items listed on eBay and other auction sites.

Here are a few examples...[/i]

eBay Yamaha Valve cover gasket (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Valve-cover-gasket-Yamaha-FJ1200-FJ1100-/200724478323?vxp=mtr)

I sell the same gasket for $34.86; Yamaha Valve Cover Gasket (http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=5WM-11193-00-00)

A used, worn through starter chain guide (http://www.ebay.com/itm/FJ1200-FJ-1200-FJ1100-1100-STARTER-CHAIN-DAMPER-SLIDER-GUIDE-UPPER-/330941623923?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d0da86e73&vxp=mtr)

I sell a brand new one for $66.80; Starter Drive Chain Guide (http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=36Y-11474-00)

I would be happy to be of any assistance to your FJ enjoyment.

Well...the wait is over,

The time has finally come and RPM will now be your source for O.E. Yamaha Parts as well. I have signed the contract and it takes effect on May 1st, and I am excited.

What this means for you is the parts your are having to buy from other online vendors will no be available from RPM. This program is going to allow me to supply you will any & all FJ parts to keep your bike on the road.

This is going to be a learning curve on what I am going to stock and what is going to be special order only. What I really need to find out from you guys, is what O.E. Yamaha items you would like me to stock. I want stock what you need, on a regular basis with the option of special order on the other parts that are not that popular. With that said, I am going to be stocking the parts on my shelves, paid for and not utilizing the factory to be my stocking source.

I know I have ordered from several different online O.E. sources and have found the shipping cost to be exorbitant, slow turn around and many, many back ordered items. If fact I had narrowed it down to there sources and the closest source has been the best about ordering and shipping the parts to me. No minimum orders and if Yamaha has it in the warehouse it will be shipped out to me.

One thing that I will not be able to do is be as cheap as some of the online vendors. I cannot compete with vendors who are owned by major corporations that are stocking dealers for all makes. These guys have the ability to operate on a cut throat profit margin. They make up for that profit margin by charging steep S&H charges and not having the items in stock and ordering them once you place the order.

I will be competitive in regard to pricing, but you know when you order it from my if it shows in stock it will ship within one business day maximum.

I am looking forward to this new adventure in being able to supply your needs for your FJ for many years to come.

This also means I will be able to special order on a regular basis for any Yamaha product; FJR, dirt bikes, jet skis, and snowmobile.

Congratulations Randy.  I hope this works out well for you (and this group).

I wonder, is there any opportunity for drop shipping those items that you do not intend to stock?  In this way, shipping latencies can be reduced, in some cases by a good bit of time.

I do not anticipate your being able to, as every place I have ordered motorcycle parts from, for whatever reason, do not drop ship, instead they seem to prefer they get them to their shop and then ship them out to me again.  It just seems so unnecessary to me, and I have seen other manufacturers -in other sectors, do it readily -so why not for motorcycle parts?

If nothing else, I'd love to hear the manufacturers reasoning for NOT drop shipping, only reason I can think of is trying to stay out of the customer shipping claims and returns end of it -not insignificant I grant you...

While I'm asking questions, any chance this new deal allows you to deal in Suzuki (or Honda or Kawasaki) OEM parts as well?  I'm curious.  All things being roughly equal, I'd want to throw any business I may have for the Gixxer or Ninja Ninja your way.

Keep up the good work Randy!

Thanks,

Dan

I don't know about the drop shipping, and since I am buying pretty local and I can get items from them the day after they receive it. The time that could be saved would be one day to me, but one thing that I can see as an issue for drop shipping is the carrier selected.

I use USPS Priority mail on 99% of the packages to the lower 48 which arrive in 3 days or less. It does require me to deliver my package to the post office daily and not have UPS or FedEx package pick up. I know packages ship across the lower 48 by those two carriers can take double the shipping time and the cost is usually higher.

The manufacture (Yamaha) is not going to drop ship due to the volume of shipping that would be required. I am not fully of aware of how the supplier receives their parts, but I know my buddy who owns a large Ace Hardware store receives a stock order three days a week and they drop 80-100 tote bins every shipment. I can only presume the parts supplier I am using is doing something similar.

I do have another company that I signed up with several months ago and they have a drop ship program, but the additional fees they charge ($6-10) per package is something I do not feel can best supply my customers. If I have it on the shelf and you get it in no more than three days after it ships, then I can't do much better.

I am going to focus on the Yamaha stuff for now, but if you have other brand part numbers I will gladly get price and availability if requested.

Well, funny you ask. The Electrosport regulator used some sort of chip that has been discontinued. I have been in constant communication with them and as of Monday, there is no date of the new version being available.

So, I contacted Rick's as they manufacture one similar for the fj. I have plenty on the way and should see them Monday.

Since it is a new product part number, if anyone requested a email notification, you will not get one. I will send out an update when they are in stock.

Interesting..... Australia Post has just had an increase in the cost of the basic postage rate (ie delivery within Australia of letters) form 70c to $1.
From their website. http://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/pricing-updates.html (http://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/pricing-updates.html)

"On 4 January 2016, the Basic Postage Rate (BPR) increased from 70 cents to $1. There were also changes to business letter prices as detailed below.

There were no changes to prices of concession stamps or seasonal greeting stamps, which remained at 60 cents and 65 cents respectively.

These changes will allow Australia Post to recover more of the cost of providing the letters service so we can maintain our nationwide Post Office network of over 4,000 Post Offices, and keep our posties delivering to around 11.4 million points across the country."

They have also increased other services such as mail boxes.

Ordered parts from RPM to be shipped to Denmark.

Shipping only took 6 days, incl. Customs clearance.

Best thing is that I only had to pay minimum tax and import duties (USD 5) because of the goods type/amount declared by RPM.

GOOD JOB  :drinks:  :good2: :good2: :good2: :good2: :good2: :good2: :good2: :good2: :good2: :good2:

That must have been an old post prior to the websites creation. That's how we used to have to sell parts before the website.

The website is how it works today. The shipping will be calculated based on your address.

UPS is at it again...Jacking up the prices...

I am sure FedEx and USPS will not be far behind...

The following changes will take effect on December 24, 2017.
•   The rates for UPS® Ground, UPS Air and International services, as well as UPS Air Freight rates within and between the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, will increase an average net 4.9%.
•   The dimensional weight divisor for packages less than or equal to one cubic foot in size (1,728 cubic inches) will be 139 for all U.S. domestic services subject to Daily Rates or Alaska and Hawaii Rates.
•   Criteria and pricing for Additional Handling and Large Package surcharges will change.

So, take advantage of the upcoming RPM (http://www.rpmracingca.com) sales happening at the end of this year before UPS jacks the prices again.

We will have the black Friday/weekend sale as well as the Christmas sale in early December.

This holiday season contributing members will receive an additional 2.5% discount over the listed discount.

From October 19 their tracking system shows "processed through facility" in San Francisco for the package you sent to me. They are not even capable of providing up to date information, but important thing is they raise the prices. I'm mad at the postal service in general, everywhere.

Ivan,

I just tried to track the package and I get this message:

This service is currently unavailable.

We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

Go To USPS.com

I will continue to check and see if I can get more information. Unfortunately the USPS tracking info can only be updated if the receiving country sends the information to them. If your postal system and/or customs does not update USPS then there will not be any updates.

USPS 1st class used to have a delivery time of 14-21 business days for delivery. They have since removed that time frame a couple of years ago due to the receiving countries customs holding packages longer than the "advertised" amount of delivery days.

One thing I have learned shipping packages all over the world, priority mail does get there quicker and does not seem to spend as much time in the receiving countries customs process.

I will move this over to email for any further updates I receive.

We have gotten several emails regarding shipments to Australia, while we were at Daytona racing. I have gotten back to all the emails personally but also want to put this out there. This is the message I received from the USPS

"With regards to shipments to Australia - they announced at the beginning of this month that they have currently limited the amount of incoming shipments due to COVID-19
Australia is locked down for commercial flights, which are responsible for a vast majority of the packages and mail being transported into the country  While First-Class Package and Priority Mail are unavailable, you can continue to use Simple Export Rate for qualifying shipments to Australia as they utilize their own system for transport

That said, we are recommending to users that you only ship to Australia at the moment if absolutely necessary as they are seeing a major backlog - so delays are inevitable and returned or sometimes missing packages are becoming more common at this time...
We also want to stress the importance of getting insurance on these packages, to be sure you are able to get reimbursement in case there are any issues during the shipment process

If you would still like to use this service, you certainly can - but I do want to let you know that USPS will not honor the $200 included insurance for Priority Mail Express if the package is lost/missing/damaged unless you are purchasing your label directly at the Post Office. Second, they will not issue refunds for the International Express delivery window guarantee due to the current state"

That said I am going to talk to pop about disabling the Australia shipping as if it get lost I don't want to be out the product plus an expensive shipping cost that won't be refunded and we surely do not want you guys not getting your products either.

Another thing I was just made aware of, is at the beginning October through the end of December, USPS and other shippers will be temporarily raising prices for "increased holiday traffic" We will be reflecting these price increases as well.

As we have passed the new year and venture of into 2025. I wanted to share a few of observations we have experienced since 2020, the year of Covid. We have noted that suppliers and manufacturers are reducing inventories, closing warehouses and streamlining their inventories. This means parts for older bikes, like the FJ series are not being supplied.

We have noted a severe decline of aftermarket parts for the FJ at the motorcycle suppliers. Thankfully we have had some great salesmen that have advised of the reduction of inventory and allow us to purchase the remaining inventory. But those inventories are running low on our shelfs too.

We continue to manufacture parts for the FJ and have the largest Yamaha FJ inventory for engine and carb part in the world.

We continue to search for companies that are willing to support the all mighty FJ, but there are things that are becoming and those that are already obsolete.

As those parts go away, they will be removed from the website, but that doesn't mean there might not be some used parts here either.

So, if you are looking for something and you do not see it on the website, shoot an email or PM to see if we might have it used. We are still picking up used parts bikes when they cross the door step.

We will continue to support the FJ and still have the largest FJ inventory in the world.

We hope you have a happy and prosperous new year.

Robert and Randy - RPM
