Hey guys,
I've been searching all over for information on how to swap in a 1992 GSX USD fork. I see it's been done via the following website: http://www.fjmods.btinternet.co.uk/MarkAlva.htm (http://www.fjmods.btinternet.co.uk/MarkAlva.htm)
Does anyone have any additional details?
Much appreciated
I'm still working this angle.
Parts accumulated: 2 GSXR1100 part bikes, Honda F4 shock.
Ordered: Rear 38 tooth sprocket, superbike bar, handlebar mounts, 1.0KG/mm springs, bushing and seals for the USD forks.
Currently pressing the FJ stem into the GSXR lower triple and fitting the rear rim (5.5 inch variety)
Pictures coming soon.
I used 2008 gsxr1000 front end on my 86. Just bought another to put on my 87. Did the Honda f4i shock on the 86. Got a 92 gsxr600 wheel (supposed to be 94gsxr1100) but it worked. I used the 2008 front end because they are over sprung. And I didn't have to change the springs and valving. Used the gsxr triples with the fj stem. Welded around the bottom and then machined it down to fit the gsxr triples. Made a collar for the top of the stem. To fit the gsxr triples. Made extensions for the forks and made risers for the gsxr clippons (same height as the fj )I custom braided brake lines. And your pretty much done. Going to do the same on the 87.
FJ with USD forks are cool. So it's been done before. Keep us posted.
