Title: throttle valve?
Post by: Antonn3 on June 11, 2012, 03:25:51 PM
.....can a flat bottom throttle valve replace a curved bottom valve?
I have a set of used carbs that I would like to  use, to replace the diaphragms on the original (curved valve )carbs..
I know I can repair the pin holes, but would rather replace first if I can?
I thought I saw mention of this somewhere on this forum, but can't find it.

BTW its an '85 FJ

Thank you,
Tony

Hi Tony,

I guess your talking about the carb slides. Randy explains it pretty well here.     http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=5972.msg52394#msg52394 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=5972.msg52394#msg52394)

Thanks  Mike, yes that is the article I ws looking for.
So in my case, I should be ok going to the flat carb slides in the 1100 carbs.

Thanks again,
Tony
