Title: Delkevic Stubby Silencers
Post by: WhiteBeard on May 28, 2012, 05:19:48 PM
Is there anybody here that could throw some light on whether or not the Delkevics model specific FJ1200 mufflers will mount without blocking off the center stand?
I've read posts about the XJR1300 mufflers obstructing the centerstand (or rather the mid-pipes), but no info on the FJ specific ones.

Thanks a bunch!

I had to remove the centre stand, it would still fit but wouldn't return high enough. I just fit it with the bolts poked through for cleaning, chain, servicing etc. no big deal, only takes a few seconds. I even stick it in my bag on trips.

OK, thanks for the info!
Too bad on the center stand though.

How loud is the noise level (with baffles installed) compared to stock?
Heard the grunt in Leon's videos, but I find it difficult to estimate the loudness.

The centre stand things not that big a deal.

Noise?  You mentioned you have the stubby's. Are you sure? Because what Leon and I have are not the Stubby's. The Stubby's are loud!  In fact, I think they say on their website they're not for street use.

I thought I posted a link to the mufflers, but seems like I didn't. Sorry, should have been more detailed in my initial post.
Here are the ones I am looking at, the "Tri-Oval *Stubby* 13 inch (320mm) Carbon Fiber and Stainless Steel Silencers".

Haven't gotten these as of yet, still running stock.
I like the look of the Tri-Ovals but if they're that loud, I'll definitely start looking for something else...
