Richard,

That's a wonderful road, and great country all around to see.  Some day I'll get to ride the Lion's road, I've only ever driven it before.

This would be a bit of a hike for me if only for a weekend.  I know MY wife would refuse to pillon that far again.  I'm also questioning the tariff, its quite a bit above my normal range of accomodation fees.
Still, its a good thought.

Arnie

I was going through my diary and may have been a bit premature. This would be best left till spring but we could book soon.

Here is the e-mail I received for Cougal.

.......

Hello Richard

Lovely to hear from you! It was 5 years ago when you were both here! Doesn't time fly!

We have 2 Queen Suites, 1 Twin Suite, and the Family unit, which has a Queen and two singles.

It is $270 per double for dinner bed and breakfast for 1 night. Second night would be $250.  Wine is BYO, but if you did not have room we can help out. Can also do picnic lunch as required. We now have a lovely little picnic spot up the mountain.

Kind regards

Elizabeth

Sounds like a trifecta. We might all get a Claytons award! Now all we need is X`ray vision, a drinks bitch with "ginger" beer and a good route planner!!

Dena and I absoluteley Loved catch`n up with ya. How majic is that Country. Where else can ya kick back and track the light whof of smoke from the wood fire oven through the valley, with only the sounds of birds inter mingling with Classic piano, while we scoff into brekky.....Suspect the rally won`t be quite as romantic....A Latte Brissie run for Christmas is on the cards, me thinks.  :drinks:  Doug

Ok, thats it!, I'm missing out on too much fun here,! Only because I can't take a wife, 2 girls and my furry German Shepherd girlfriend with me on the FJ! But, I'll tag along and be on my own next time,
