Title: VFR750 master cylinders
Post by: FJ111200 on April 25, 2012, 11:19:43 AM
Is anyone running their FJ with the VFR750 front brake and clutch m/c's?
I've just bled up the front brake using one and the Blue Spots, seems fine but not been for a ride yet.
The clutch i've yet to do.
Has anyone come across any problems doing so?

What is the cylinder bore diameter?

From what i can gather the front brake master is 12.7mm or half an inch, and the clutch master is 14mm.

I've been using an '02 VFR800 clutch master for about 8 months without any problems. I am using the double clutch spring set-up and lever pull is about the same as the standard m/c with single spring. The VFR m/c doesn't look out of place on the FJ and has one of the best adjustable lever set-ups I've seen. Rebuild kits are cheap and easy to find.  Regards, Pete.

The VFR master is correct for two, 2 piston calipers. The blue spot monoblocks work best with a 14mm non radial Nissin mastercylinder, or a 19mm radial Nissin mastercylinder. Give the 12.7mm VFR master a try, if you like the feel you are done. If its too touchy, try one of the other masters. I am using a 19mm radial master from a 2006 GSXR600 with my blue spots and it works great!
