Hi All,
Yamaha is having their annual custom showdown thing w/ top prize being a trip to your choice of MotoGP races here in the States. The big twist is that the public can now vote and not a private judging like in the past.
Just a thought, but if one of us with a real nice FJ, Pat's 84 being the Benchmark, along with others like her, and we all agree to vote for that one, our best FJs owner can take a nice trip to a GP this year. Plus, our FJ group will be represented and get some attention we deserve.

Ya got my vote. (when ya ready) Doug
I bet it would score a lot of votes, please post and let us know when you do Pat...
In the past, Yamaha has greatly ignored the FJ in these contests. With the public voting, I think we have a big chance of sending one of our own to a GP this year.
So c'mon all you hot FJ owners, chirp in and let us know. I know that I will support you with my vote.

That's because an "old" FJ winning this contest would not generate any excitement in their target audience for selling more R1s and R6s.
I'm sure Yamaha will still have the last word in who wins, regardless of the vote, they're not a democracy.

If there were enough interest we could attempt to test your theory...But I am on the pessimists side on this one. A tricked out FJR is more likely to get mentioned than our already retired FJ's. Long live the FJ.....
More likely they would do a "wonderful yamahas through the years" sort of thing with finalists. The winner could be anything from something current (and convienently on sale this week only!) to some classic that people remember fondly (TZ750 or whatever).
Still could get a mention, I'd guess.
