Ok folks, here's the scoop, this year the 2012 West Coast FJ rally will be held in Porterville, CA.
I got 14 rooms saved at the Best Western, 350 Montgomery Ave. Porterville, CA. 93257 (559) 781-7411
Arrival on Thursday May 31st departing on Sunday June 3rd.

Thanks Father Pat! :good2: Oh, and Klavdy and I have eaten at that Denny's and stayed at that hotel already - and by right around the corner - they actually mean in the hotel parking lot...yay!
I got a room but the lady I booked with said they really don't know what room I am staying in until the day-of-registration. If you got a block of rooms well its not really assigned according to her ---then again I got the night shift. If you think it should be different ( basically you have a block of specific rooms reserved ) let me know who I should talk too.
Otherwise --looking forward to seeing everyone I haven't seen in a year -- I am not looking forward to the breakfast ride....seems like I will be able to push my bike across the parking lot .... the ride in Willits was much better ... 20 miles of curves to the coast.

We'll be having brunch at "Sisters Mountain House (http://sistersmountainhouse.com/)" you'll be delighted with the road to it,Hwy 245.
Yeah fucking hoo man. More good times coming! I am booked!!

Not to worry Steve. When they say they have reserved a block of rooms it simply means the number of rooms Pat requested. They could be spread out all over the hotel.
I'm in Vegas until the 25th. Hmmmm... we do have about 17 trucks going out that way. Might just be room for an FJ?! It's a long shot but who knows.
My room is booked, now I need to get moving faster on the front end upgrade....
Have you thought about Kawasaki ZX6R parts (http://motorcycleparts2u.com/2006-kawasaki-zx636-forks-mp2u039646) for your front end?

No, I have not, tell me more....
Well, go to that link and have a look through the fork sets.
You find some you like the look of then google their specs.
You need to find their diameter ,length and distance between them in their OEM role and the axle thickness, length etc. (that's so you can work out the if the axle will fit your existing 17" FJ wheel)
Just thought I'd drop my $0.02 on the rooms. I wanted a room with a King bed for the Mrs. & I. I found a booking website http://www.venere.com/california/porterville/ (http://www.venere.com/california/porterville/) that saved a few $$ and was able to book the desired room at the best price, with a 1 day cancellation policy.
They also sent me a discount code good for another 4% off your 1st booking, CH7EW3S.
If bookings fill, or you want something special, this is a decent place to look.

Good work mate, most everyone likes a bargain.
Sues coming to Porterville, there's some magnificent scenery and some cool shopping in quaint places too if riding loses it's appeal.
What about Colorado?
Is she coming there too or are you riding out?
I know it might be a lot of work but when is the FJ Rally website going to be updated with the latest 2012 info.
CHOP CHOP Marsh :)

Yes, quick sticks Fluffy, quick sticks.
It's not as if you've got anything better to do.
You guys will love riding up there, my grand parents retired to Porterville. Some decent food up around Camp Nelson, and if you follow it over it drops into Kernville and Lake Isabella. Wish I still lived in Cali. I miss running mountain roads instead of all this flat land out here.
And we have friends that run "Sisters Mountain House (http://sistersmountainhouse.com/)" at Badger, C.A.
It is a most thrilling ride there on the Hwy 245 and that's just the start of some really good rides.

Fluffy even rates it as one of the best roads he's ever been on and that was in the rain.
I spent some time around there and got good, dry weather.
The area is great, excellent roads.
It's a top spot at Sisters Mountain House, pity they don't have accommodation as it's an excellent hang out.
Wait till you meet Harold there.
Just have to watch out for some painfully slow groups.

I haven't booked my room but i did request the time off work. So I'll be there!
:music:
I have a room to myself at the moment, I offered it to Terry should he chose to reduce the 8+ quarts of oil in his FJ sump and join us for the ride up to the WCR. Hell, Terry can even bring his other ride and still join us. Either way, I will help anyone needing a room at the WCR even if they don't mind my snoring... Even Red Power Rangers have flaws....
I'll be there for Saturday and Sunday nights. If no one else is in need. The bike was loaded today for the trip west.

I will be taking you up on that good sir! Sadly though, my fj literally fell apart on last weeks barf rally. So I'll either be on my r6 or my friends z1000.
