Just got the call from my Yamaha shop...the '86 is now certified safe for the road! :yahoo: Off to the licence bureau!
Want to thank all you guys that held my hand thru the complete process, its not easy to teach a carpenter all those mechanical tricks. Its not a pretty bike to look at....yet, but after a complete rewire, many new and nearly new parts, four years of sitting idle in various garages in differing states of disassembly, the engine roared to life on its first roll-over.
I'm afraid the sound of the FJ coming to life again has stirred something evil from within...what' my next maintenance task...should I go for a complete paint and decal job...what mod should I attempt first...o dear...have I been inflicted with Kookaloo? :wacko2:
Now, to get all this snow and salt off of the roads up here!
Thank again FJowners.
