I cry bullshit on both of you.

I am unemployed myself and coughed up a few bucks. Skip a lunch or two and send that in. If you are gonna be a dead beat thats OK, just don't make excuses.

Everybody should pay their clubhouse dues to help marsh out with costs.

you all say you like the site so pony up a couple bucks.

I have been doing quite a lot of thought on this topic.  I understand the subconscious human reaction to be recognized for making a donation to something.  Like, at the zoo, where they have all of those brass plaques, or bricks or whatever with the names of those who have donated $ to the zoo.  It is a normal thing to have it posted somewhere that you made a contribution to something.

First of all, let me say that I have received MANY MORE donations from all of you than I ever anticipated so soon! (and I don't mean that in a derogatory way...I'm just sayin...)  I was contacted several times via PM to put up a donate button right now.  I had always planned on putting one up at some time...but I didn't want to do it so soon because I didn't want people to think that the reason I created this site was somehow financially driven.

What I have come up with to "recognize" a donation is to have a title assigned to members who have made a donation called "$ Contributor".  I hope that is not out of line.

I want to make it VERY CLEAR to all that absolutely NO DONATION is EVER REQUIRED OR EXPECTED to be a member and enjoy this website!  I will NEVER look down on those who have not made a donation and I encourage EVERYONE ELSE who has made a donation to have the same mindset as well.  It is strictly voluntary.

Thanks again to you all!!  Please let me know input and feedback - positive or negative on this idea.

I',m with you Marsh.Even though I have donated,I didn't do it through a feeling of peer pressure,or the thought that I might be frowned upon by other members if I didn't contribute.I donated because I felt that it is a worthy cause,to keep us all going along on our FJ journey's,and notlet all that m/cycle knowledge and know how slide off into cyberpergatory. At the time of my donation there wasn't an aknowledgement for making a donation, and I didn't care if there was going to be one.If you can't afford to donate, don't.I've been there, where you are scratching for pennies.Happily I'm not now and therefore donated. And that is my 2cents:)Dave.

MArsh,

you are a great guy!

I'm with Dave, i just really appreciate your taking the time to set up this super slick website for us all to enjoy. I know times are tough with the economy like it is and i respect the fact that some people cannot afford to donate what with familes and bills etc.

this site is going to allow the group to really flourish as it should and when time are better i know everyone will want to give something towards keeping it going.

Marsh,
In the past many FJ Owners have contacted you to see if we could contibute back in some way for your FJ Rally site.
Now we have this, a wonderful new shiney and adaptable web site where we can still gain knowledge and keep in touch with one another and we have some say in whats being done here, I'd say its well over due to help you for all you do for this group of missfits.
I will glady contiue to do what I can personally to help keep this new clubhouse together and growing..

Marsh, if your cup runneth over you can do a x-mas giveaway or rally prizes.
