Title: Inner fairing parts rehab?
Post by: Skivvy on February 07, 2012, 11:15:55 PM
What is the preferred way to rehab the black inner fairing parts. These seem to have been stored in a dark uncomfortable place and then inexplicably put back on my splarkling low mileage bike. :shok:

Short of replacing them outright what seems to look the best and holds up reasonable well?

I used spray-on bedliner on mine.  It kind of camoflaged some of the repairs and cracks

I used Krylon Fusion paint on the shutters of my house.  It's made for plastic.  It comes in dofferent colors if you don't like black

Hi Skivvy.

Whats the issue with them? Scratched, cracked ,faded, dirty?.Mine were all that.Cleaned with degreaser and scotchbright scourer, glued with with 2 part plasti-weld then painted with automotive bumper spray rattle can.Came up pretty good.Slightly textured finish.Painted both inners and instrument cowling.
