Title: rough & ready gps mount mk1
Post by: flips on January 23, 2012, 01:05:49 AM
Hi Fellow FJ'ers.

The mounting hardware that came with my cheap ass gps might work on a bmx so I knocked up this one in the shed.Yeah I know....rough as guts....but it's only a prototype :flag_of_truce:

I used 2mm aluminium plate...some m6 threaded rod bent into a u shape & some heat shrink over it and locknuts/washers.The threaded rod clamps under the ignition/steering lock. The gps clamps onto the round black thingy under the ignition barrel.
This is the budjet gps I bought , which surprisingly has better features than the tomtom I use in the car!

Hi Diymanic,

Continuing the "Cheap ass" theme its a digital temp meter....

It works well...the only draw back is that it is very hard to read in the day light (looks cool at night though )...should have got the lcd instead of led but it only goes to 150 c
