Title: Wave washers
Post by: FJ111200 on January 22, 2012, 09:23:49 AM
You know these wave washers that go at the bottom of the forks, there's 3 of them on each fork.
Are they all needed or will 2 per fork be ok?
I've got 4 and i've hunted high and low in my garage for the other 2, am i being a skinflint and order some?

So basically the 1100 and early 12's had these wave washers, but the 1989 onwards 12's didn't, and according to the www.cmsnl.com (http://www.cmsnl.com) parts fische's 2 are wave washers or valves and the centre one is just a washer.
So if i just put a washer between 2 the wave washers or wave valves it should be ok?

From personal experience, after building several sets of forks and seeing those washers were not in the late model fork assemblies, I left them out of my 86 and they work the same.

I would just leave them out.
