Title: kookaloo
Post by: fj11.5 on January 12, 2012, 12:52:02 AM
well after starting effies head swap over a week ago i finally got her back together today and went for a short ride  :good2: , checked the shims needed 3 changed 2 on the exhaust were loose, and a tight inlet one, synched the carbs , now starts with no throttle cold or hot, and holds a perect idle after blip test, ,,, unsure about the 17" rear wheel probably just me and i also didnt go far but felt like it wasnt steering right    (popcorn)

Great to hear that not only is your bike up and running, but that you are too.
Sounds like the quacks took out the right bits and also left the other needed bits. :-)
If your 17" rear felt like it wasn't steering right stringline it to make absolutely sure its straight and inline with the front.
Keep on riding and wrenching.

They must of   left something in there, i wouldnt of attempted any head work 8 years ago when i bought her , yet to try her after synching the carbs, just did a couple of laps to warm her up and clear some carbon , hope to take her out shortly  :diablo: ,,put the standard one back in earlier , 17" needs painting anyway will try to stringline when i hammer it back in
