Hi-
Just bought an 84 1100 and knew you were out there somewhere, got a referal from another Yamaha site and here you are. My local Yamaha shop was no help at all [ they state they are the oldest Yamaha site in the U.S.-started in 1956]
Anyway I just don't want to own any vehicle without a good site to be able to visit. And with a 28 yr. old bike, one needs a good site.
Well, it is sunny here in New Mexico and we can ride most days in the winter. You northern guys have to wait but doesn't that make better in the Spring??
Just glad to have found you and to have found a bike locally, as these 1100's are getting scarce. I looked in Arizona, Colorado, California, Nevada, Utah, and Texas on Craigslist and none to be had. Just got lucky as one was for sale here in Albuquerque.
Talk to ya later.

Another Red and White, welcome to the fastest ambulance riders of the world. That is unless you painted it another color....Then F'Off!!!!
Just kidding, any FJ rider with decent people skills is most welcome to join, contribute and share in the Kookalooo (look it up) we all know as the FJ1100/1200.
Welcome to the group Bigbore2
it's always good to have some support with a new machine.
We'll try and answer all your questions and enable your inner modifier! :good2:
KOokaloo!
Welcome my fellow New Mexican. There's mounds of information and knowledge....you'll see.
Yes, its red and white, and black. Always liked that color scheme since it first came out. Glad to be here wit ya. I will try to behave.
Welcome bb,
If you have a red/white FJ then 2 possibilities occur:
1) You have an '85 not a '84
or
2) You have a Canadaian model '84 which was red/white
The USA '84's were red/silver. Cheers!
OK, it is now official. I have pre-Alzheimer. 84 bike is red/silver/black. Just like in your pic, Pat.
So you guys ARE really paying attention.
