Just thought I'd say Hi to everyone after being away for a while:)
I hope everyone had a great christmas and new years and enjoyed the entire festive season, hope all were safe and had no problems
Cheers
Jesse
gday jesse, ,quiet christmass for me mate, :wacko3: .hows things over your way,did you get the fj sorted
Things have been busy. Very busy. Been working overtime to get cash to fix up the FJ.
Currently halfway there, just gotta get the valve cover gasket and the valve stem seals and Im set. Well and the shimming if I cant just swap them around.
Its quite ridiculous, the guys here want to charge me 7US$ for a single valve stem seal
Well Jesse you know the answer to that ...send me the order and you will save money
Randy - RPM
oh trust me Randy, that I know for sure :good2:
Its just that after the whole "festive season" by account isnt feeling so festive :hang1:. I have enough left for the gasket, but not the stem seals and I want to get everything together as shipping is a bit of a bitch when doing things slowly.
BUT the guy who's helping me said he will take one of the stem seals to a place and see if they cant match something up and see the prices then. TO his knowledge stem seals should only cost roughly what you sell em for so he'll have a look for me, and if he gives me the go ahead I can order the gasket.
Otherwise I will have to wait for the end of february. I have study fees due at the end of January:(
Oh and then finally after I have the engine up its just the fork leak thats the other major problem - skrews with the handling a bit but wont kill me just yet
Update,
I got new valve stem seals for nothing. A friend of my bike president heard about my trouble and having a fresh new clean set gave them to me for nothing(helps to know the right people :yahoo:)
Now all I need to get done is buy the valve cov er gasket which I will be ordering from Randy once all my expenses are paid for in february. The shimming will need to get done as well, but our main focus is just getting the bike running, the guy helping me says he knows a few places where shimming caan be done but he first wants to see how close he can get everything by swapping things around :wacko3: Must say I have been learning a lot and while I enjoy riding the big boy, I am itching to get back on the FJ and experience some speed, I miss it so much :hang1:
Will keep everyone posted again as more updates become available
