If it is not running I would ask him to bring the price down. $1,200.00 might not be bad but not running means there may be other costly issues he is not telling you. Factor in if you will be the primary mechanic or will you be paying others to fix her up. We can give you lots of good advise and help you find your problems and solutions. I paid $1,200.00 for my 86' in really good shape and running like a rapped ape (first big bore bike for me). I think she had around 30K (miles) when I bought her. Get the price down and buy her.

Arnie's mate has a ripper '91 ( the sorted model) for around $2000 in Victoria. You could blow the extra $800, at least, in a heartbeat by your description of the '86.

Hey Dash, Sounds like it won`t be ready for the Rally so don`t rush in yet. :negative: There`s another on the Coast with $8000 spent on her - but wants $4000 at this stage. (92 model). Better buys around. We`ve got our eyes and ears lookin for ya - Doug (popcorn)

Darrel, if that's the 86 advertised on oz ebay at the moment, the ad says"no emails". If you can't ask questions about the bike, don't even think about buying it. It could cost you alot more in the end than buying a well maintained later model. Keep looking mate, I'm sure something much better will turn up.  Regards, Pete.
