Title: Plastic fairing
Post by: chrisz29 on December 16, 2011, 05:40:35 PM
Well im pretty tired of looking for a good fairing as im sure we all are......so I was thinking since my cracks are on one side and not that big, but big enough to need work. My idea is laying thin sheetmetal along that side riveting it on and using body filler to smooth it out before paint. As for the lip at the top that should be easy enough.  Any thoughts on this?

What about fibreglass reinforced bog(body filler) you can string that stuff across holes, it's strong and it's a one-step process.

I thought about that......but in my opinion with the vibration and durability ...the sheet metal may be the better deal.......then again thats just my opinion..........

You could try the stuff below, I am assuming that is available in the States, it would look better not having rivets showing on the outside and you won't get a stress points where the rivets goes through the plastic.
