Title: '86 indicator lights
Post by: WhiteBeard on November 25, 2011, 07:24:45 AM
I really like the look and appearance of the '86 FJ1200 indicator lights, would it be possible to make a swap on my '85 1100?
(even though they make good fairing-guards... )

No, you can not fit the '86 turn signals in the 84/85 fairings. They are different fairings.
It's a big job for just the turn signals....You will have to change your entire fairing (and fairing stay, frame tabs, etc) to fit the '86 turn signals

Of course, the rear signals will fit any years...

anything will fit if you force it  :yahoo: (popcorn) on the other hand, you can buy some nice flush mounted indicators , i did that when i first bought my 84 with original fairing still fitted, usually just need a small mounting hole drilled in the fairing wherever you choose, there are plenty of shapes on ebay to chose from, or just buy smaller stem mounted ones .. :good:

Thanks for the info, I guess I will have to wait until I have the money, then go and get myself a 86' FJ1200 to complement the 1100...
I wonder... if I keep both in the same garage, what's the chances of getting a litter of 250's after a year or two?

Yes, you're definately right. I will look around 'till I find something that might work and fit the style.
In the meantime, hey, they've saved my fairing from scratching once already!
